I bought 2 different models here on Amazon. I was thinking of using one for hand sanitizer gel and another for hand soap. I may also decide to use this one with a gel like lotion I use. I use the sanitizer 2 times a day for my feet to insure they stay healthy and the lotion a somewhat sticky gooey product helps to keep up my compression hose and socks. So thats my routine daily for over 11 years now. I'm not sure I will get along with the sticky lotion in one of these. The reason I favor the other model over this is 3 fold. First is the fill chamber which is clear on the other and the top loading area is much bigger opening and super easy to fill and also to empty to clean out or rinse out when you may need to do that from time to time. Second the latter above the ease to fill. Finally and maybe more important is the other model allows a continues dial to select despensing size from. The dial clicks on then you just turn until you find your optimum release of product. Compared to this model which has three levels only to choose from is not nearly as precise. And with that too I found it difficult to get it to turn on as the manual on off dial of the other model is much easier to use and no accidental resets either. I decided not to return this one but to keep it. Even though it cost 6 dollars more. I will use both when I go camping later this summer. I camp alone usually as my husband of 48 years has never been into it and I love tent camping having left my old canvas umbrella tent up Hylite Canyon out of Bozeman MT every summer through college in the 60-70's. To be fair I do not recall ever camping alone? My friends and my mother who I turned into a camping lady too almost always if not always joined me. Back then I could leave my tent up for 14-30 days at a time before having to move it to another location. I now live in upper MT where there is free camping for 15 days throught the summer as long as you do not exceed 15 straight days and keep around 30 days between use if you do. Anyway thought these devices would add a little more glam to my campsite. I just finished sewing and designing a wash station for a wash basin that drains, a super large alumium commercial cookie sheet as a tray table to hold the 5 gallon jug of water with spigot over bowl and I can even add hot water if I hang a sun heated bladder above all. But the tray is big enough to hold both these dispensers plus paper towels too. I know just me but it would work for a gathering nicely too. We do continue to social distant from one another for the most part up here. If a business asks for masks most of us comply and I really think they should emphasize gloves as much as masks to stay safe and to keep others safe. But these dispensers no matter which you choose from will help accomplish that in your home no doubt. Both came with notices not for commercial use. I would ignore that and use them anyway as there is no reason and beats people reaching out to touch the same pump un-protected over and over mulitple times by many different hands. Anyway for what it's worth the item is not all that bad just prefer the sleeker look and lovely features the other has as a bit more thought out and more quality added.I did not include a link here. There are so many of these out there I just suggest you do look for one with a wide variable dispenser and manual on off switch or button over a digital style.I am a teacher, and our students came back when I ordered the hand sanitizer to lower contact contamination issues. The students loved being able to use the motion sensor to dispense hand sanitizer to them. The one we use at the school is very thin, close to water in viscosity. This meant that it was going through about 5 classes a day or more, with 15 students last school year and 30 students this year per class. One of the tubes did get plugged up earlier this school year, and some of my students studying for the engineering team challenge unplugged the tube and it ran again for a couple months. Now, the motor is no longer functioning (I don't hear any sound of life, just see a light showing that the motion sensor still works). For the cost and how much use it had, I feel that this dispenser did an alright job, I would have liked it to at least last a year though and don't feel most people would take it apart to clean a jam, hence the four stars.I bought this last August for use in my lab prep room at the high school I work at, but didn't need to use it until March. It worked BEAUTIFULLY for March through May. I cleaned it out and packed it up without batteries over the summer, and now....Now it won't work. Fresh batteries and everything. 5 days after the warranty ended. It still only gives out soap for the smallest quanity only, but that is all we want. so we will keep it. I WILLNOT BE RETURNING YHIS ITEM. thank youThe product is sturdy and looks very modern. It is easy to fill and easy to put batteries inside the battery casing. What is not easy (it’s only a learning curve type of thing) is the adjustment of the liquid amount on the dispenser. If you press on it, it will not change. You have to barely touch it and it will adjust. However, I still do not have this down pat. My husband finally does though so I let him adjust it if it needs it. My son did not have any trouble adjusting it at all. I am a big soap user, so I wish it would dispense more product, but I just put my hand under there several times and end up getting enough for my liking.I LOVED this initially. I am a teacher and I have a new group of students every 30 minutes. This was a super fast way for them each to get hand sanitizer when they entered the room. I had it set to the smallest amount. It worked great for 3 months. Now, several times a day, it will make a long beep and start dispensing huge amounts. I have to scurry back to the door and push the indent button on the back to set it back to the small amount. In the meantime, there are huge dollops of sanitizer all over the carpet and basically everything young students touch! The students LOSE it and even though it happens regularly now, there is no warning when it will do it and the kids start shouting, "IT'S DOING IT AGAIN!" They all rush to get to the dispenser because they think it is hilarious. I lose instructional time! If this happens to you, how have you fixed it? FYI I DO NOT USE BATTERIES, I have a usb plug and it is plugged into a wall outlet.I have read some reviews with people having issues but this has been working great for months already! The motion detection is spot on and works on my warm sponges. The dispenser is consistently providing the same amount of soap with each use.I have been using Palmolive dish soap without issue. I have heard that you can opt to waterdown the soap by mixing a small amount of water into the soap before adding to the dispenser. I also recommend that you avoid mixing two different brands of soap at the same time as this did clog up one of my other soap dispensers!Pro's:Senses the spongeClean and even distribution with no drips or spillsEasy to fill (with a funnel)Con's:May need to waterdown the soap to thin itCannot mix brands of soap togetherThe description says rechargeable but it is not. It is battery operated and/or USB operated. Batteries are not supplied nor is explained if you can use rechargeable batteries that can be charged with the supplied USB cable. It works well for hands sanitizer.
